Submitted my work to ICA Miami / by Nathalie Chikhi

I am back in my art activities (partly set up in my new space) & submitted my work to the Call for digital Artists to ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) Miami.

Still of my video NOISE, _exclusively iPad based work. While I was pregnant, I took some time off from practicing with painting & experimented with some video and sound works using exclusively an iPad. The screens were done one per one, interacting with the glassy surface using a full arm gesture. It is part random & accidental, except for the end result where the screens are organized following a black/white entrance to go deep into colors and concluding with black/white ones.

OPEN CALL – WEB BASED ART

On view August 21, 2015 – September 13, 2015

ICA Miami’s open call program is an initiative that highlights the production of experimental works of art, and opens the museum’s exhibitions and collection to new artists and forms. Each season ICA Miami highlights a different medium, offering an opportunity for artists at any stage of their careers to present work at the museum.

For the 2015 edition of Open Call, ICA Miami invites artists to submit original and engaging works of digital and web-based art. Digital art circumvents the traditional dominance of the gallery and museum system, delivering new forms of aesthetic experience while inquiring into contemporary systems of vision and distribution. Works by ten finalists will be presented at the museum in August 2015, with one work acquired for the museum’s permanent collection.
